SIMULACRA AND SIMULATION

I know it gets boring, but thinking of Matrix made me realize something. I came across an interview with Jean Baudrillard. He was trashing the whole movie and saying that his philosophy been bastardized by it. Then I dived balls into postmodernism, simulacra, hyper-reality and all that stuff.

I still don't know much about the postmodernist philosophy or Baudrillard's concept of simulacra to be honest. As far as I see, culture is a simulation. A watered down version of reality. In the pre-modern ages, art and culture was inspired by the nature. It created a simulation, a mere shadow of reality with all of its symbolism. And then with the beginning of the multimedia age, back in the 80s, we got even more idealized, altered, overly stylized version of culture. And it created a simulation on top of a simulation. Hence we got "simulacra". Postmodern ages made us lose all contact with reality. All the symbols and metaphors lost their ties with nature. It is almost like, more media we create, more media we consume, more communication we have, further we stray from the reality and hence we create our own hyper-reality. And from what I understand, postmodernism is all about "Reality is whatever you make of it. There is no absolute or objective truth."

Aside from all the philosophical mumbo jumbo, the guy had a point. Maybe I got the whole damn thing wrong, whatever... But there will be a time when we won't be able to tell what is real and what isn't. The truth will get lost among all the noise, like a needle in a haystack.

Here is an ironic thing about this Baudrillard guy. He talks about all this media, art and culture overriding our sense of reality yet he explains all this in the most unintelligible way possible. I get it dude, you have a reputation of being the "big brained philosopher" you have to protect but it is damn hilarious when the language you use is pretentious AF just like the very subject you are criticizing. But I guess he can be excused because he is French.

So yes, it is ironic that Baudrillard is a very typical show-off intellectual. That's the deal with many "postmodernist" philosophers. You can call me a smooth brained idiot but truth is truth, so called "intellectuals" 99% of the time overcomplicate everything. Did you know that The Bogdanoff twins were somewhat reputable physicists? They wrote an article that has been published in a quite reputable academic journal. And funny thing is, whole article was just a huge word salad yet it slipped through the gatekeepers of the academic world. Maybe you heard the name Alan Sokal. He wrote a sociology article that was full of unintelligible pseudo scientific mumbo jumbo that explained and achieved absolutely nothing. But editors took it seriously and published it. He did this to prove a point. If you use enough fancy words, you can convince people that you are a true intellectual. It was a magnificent academic level shitposting.

THE SOCIAL SIMULATION

Baudrillard was wrong about the Matrix movies, he was just too proud to admit that the movie portrayed his ideology very well. He simply hated all forms of media. He said that the Matrix misses the point all because there is a clear difference between the simulation and the simulated. There is The Matrix and there is The Zion which is the absolute reality. However, the second movie makes it clear that even Zion is only allowed to exist as a measure of control. You need that conflicting binary powers to maintain the illusion of choice. There has been many more Zions and many more Matrixes in the past according to The Architect in the second movie. The system creates its own enemies to occupy people and distract them from the reality.

And this little detail makes all the difference. Matrix takes place in an unknown time in the future, it could be the year 3000 AD, or 50,000 AD, who knows? And the society Matrix is built upon was gone so long ago. It is very well possible that the year 1999 in the Matrix was so far detached from the actual year 1999 it is unrecognizable. A reality based on pure fiction, a hyper-reality. A reality where no pieces of truth remains in the world. Everything known about the previous world is based on fiction. Just bits and pieces put together by AI. Imagine we lost all human history and relied purely on AI generated text and images to learn about the past. Welcome to the desert of the real.

Just like the boy said in the first movie:

"Do you know what it really reminds me of? Tasty Wheat. Did you ever eat Tasty Wheat?"

"No, but technically, neither did you."

"That's exactly my point. Exactly. Because you have to wonder: how do the machines know what Tasty Wheat tasted like? Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe what I think Tasty Wheat tasted like actually tasted like oatmeal, or tuna fish. That makes you wonder about a lot of things. You take chicken, for example: maybe they couldn't figure out what to make chicken taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything."

So in that case "Tastee Wheat" is a piece of code detached from its origin to the point it lost all ties with reality. A simulation not based on a simulated. A map without a city. A pure simulacrum.

Here is the irony of the blue pill and the red pill. The choice makes no difference. You take the blue pill and keep living in the matrix. A heaven created by the machines. You take the red pill and join the rebellion that is also created by the machines to keep those divergent people under control by giving them a fake purpose. No matter what you choose, you play their game.

In a previous blog post, I said that 90s were relatively peaceful years and that the new Matrix movie will be different because world has gone to shit. That was me 3 years ago. Now I no longer believe 90s were so peaceful. Ask about 90s to a guy who lived in a bumfuck ex-soviet country or worse Yugoslavia and he will tell you how peaceful it really was. Or ask 90s to a kid who grew up in Congo, if he was lucky enough to survive all those massacres.

I born sometime in the late 90s. I have very little to no memories about 90s. I made that judgment based on 90s media, 90s pop culture and memories of other people grew up in the 90s. And how could I so confidently talk about 90s? Due to second hand memories, a second hand image of 90s I had. You see where this is going?

People entertain the idea of life being a computer simulation but not many question if life is a social simulation we created with our own hands. How many people get their historical facts from hollywood movies? How many get their sense of fashion, sense of beauty from IG or Tiktok? How many people get their medical advice from a social media clown?

THE WORLD IS BUILT UPON LIES

Every single nation has their own versions of history and their own views of politics. And it is vastly different from each other. Imagine you enter a crime scene and interrogate the witnesses. And guess what? Every single one of them tells a different story. It is simply impossible to put all the pieces together and truly understand what happened. Beyond all the lies and altered evidence, there is the objective truth. A crime happened. But you will never know how it happened, who did it and even when it exactly happened.

You have some strong opinions on North Korea, right? It is a dictatorship that's being ruled by a bloodthirsty dictator who deprives all his citizens from basic human rights and freedom of speech. They told you North Koreans has no communication with the rest of the world. Many North Koreans don't even know East Germany is not a country anymore. They don't know anything about the outside world. They truly live in a simulation.

However what you might not know, as North Koreans have no idea what is happening in the free world, we outsiders cannot truly know what happens in North Korea either. Because we live in our own echo chamber. Yes NK is a dystopian hell hole and shit, but some of the claims about the country is so outlandish that you instantly recognize, it is just dirty propaganda against North Korea. Many documentaries I watched even claims that religion is totally banned in North Korea. What a load of bullshit. I don't believe that.

How many people remember the "Nayirah Testimony"? Back when Little Bush brought a supposed Kuwaiti girl to American Congress to testify against supposed Iraqi war crimes. She talked about how Iraqi soldiers went to the hospitals and killed babies and looted their incubators. This was all to justify actual war crimes done by Uncle Sam. And their war crimes far exceeded the fictional ones they created. If you look into those wikileaks files you can learn how they exactly cover up all these war crimes.

I am not sure if I should even talk about the truth behind China and their oppression against East Turkistan. I am ethnically a Turk, I have no reason to believe China is innocent. I don't even like Chinese government. They are just as dirty as any other government. But that whole East Turkistan drama is far, far different than what western media is trying to sell you. My own country contributes to that dirty propaganda. So before you say I have been brainwashed by my local government, fuck you! Our government takes the side of US in this subject, so it is not the case either. I will ask only one thing, what the hell CIA was doing with the political figures of East Turkistan?

So, as you see, we all shift the reality in our own ways, one way or the other. The world is not all black and white. Experiencing some of the dirty propaganda of conventional media made me skeptical of any political or historical subject. Maybe it got to a point that every historical and political fact so far vanished into the lies, there is no way of knowing the truth. Hence we all live in our own bubbles. Our tiny little simulations. Only future generations might or might not know what actually happened in our recent history when the dust settles and no reason remains to hide the truth because the world is a different place.

ENTER THE MATRIX

Ok, the conventional media is full of shit, but the internet changes everything, right? Yes it does, but not in the right direction. Internet suppose to be a haven of free speech, a world where no lie can hide forever. Because everyone has a voice now. You don't get your information from a handful of news outlets, you now have a billion people you can talk to. Then how it comes the whole damn thing made it impossible to have any piece of truth?

You ever wondered why the society gone delusional, psychotic even? Why we live in mass hysteria? Suddenly a large portion of people started to believe world is doomed. Suddenly everyone started to believe "Chad" and "Stacy" has wonderful lives and they themselves are the only ones living like shit. Everyone is rich, everyone is riding a Bugatti, everyone is dating an IG model, everyone has expensive hobbies and living their dreams, everyone has six pack abs and thick juicy bubble butts. Everyone except you.

You are under 6 feet tall? It is over for you. You have a weak jawline? You will die a virgin. Your eyes have negative canthal tilt? Dude, why you even live? You are in your early 20s and still not a millionaire? Get outta here. Women are cancer, the west has fallen, WW3 is around the corner, China will come for that tight boypussy of yours and if you stop jerking off you will become an ubermensch.

Swear to god, 99% of all these retarded internet ideologies revolve around pussy.

How about gymmaxxing, looksmaxxing, trannymaxxing, moneymaxxing, shitmaxxing your way to success? Don't forget to wear your tinfoil hat today, 5G towers will activate that brainchip Bill Gates put into your body. Although the chip would not work if there is no brain to begin with. How about drinking a gallon of horse cum? If semen retention helps you transcend humanity, why not fill yourself up with more cum? Shove a bunch of ice cubes into your butt, that will make you see the light. And take your lead supplements to protect against the ancient alien worms.

I said everyone fell for all this crap. You see the problem? My whole world consisted of niche internet communities and my whole reality was based on what is posted online. In reality though, only a small group of terminally online idiots practice this forbidden science. Once you touch the grass, you realize not everyone is insane.

But that's only the tip. Your part of the simulation might look very different than my part of the simulation. Maybe algorithms have cursed you with a different kind of disease. I swear to god, I cannot understand a damn thing about zoomer brainrot lingo. This is not even the fault of Gen Z anymore. It is mostly a Gen Alpha thing. Some of you old farts don't even realize that older Gen Z almost reached their 30s. I know, all this generation classes are outdated and stupid.

And how about the big brother pulling all the strings? For most people, the internet consists of social platforms created by Meta, Google and Elon Musk. That's their whole life, their whole online presence. Think of all the social media as one gigantic shopping mall. Like Costco or Walmart. Why would you even step outside? They have everything you need. You get spoonfed with all the entertainment and information you could ever want. And since the big tech controls all these platforms, they get to choose what you will or will not see. They own your eyes, your ears and your mind. You experience the life through internet. And all the stuff here is so far detached from reality is that, the damn thing puts matrix into shame. Do you even need wires crawling all over your body? Do you even need to live inside a human farm? That's your human farm. They enslaved your mind.

And holy damn, don't even get me started with all this AI crap. I will talk about it in a future post. But can you see where this is really going? As the internet gets filled with AI generated bullshit, the AI will pull that information off the web, and will cannibalize on itself to the point it devolves into a delusional maniac. All these AI companies are DDoS'ing the entire web. They reach up to every corner, look under the every rock. That's a dangerous thing. Very recently I came across a blog post of a coder who was having troubles with OpenAI's stupid web crawlers. He said that the algorithm pulls all the data from his website very frequently to the point that something like 70% of his bandwith is used to serve robots instead of people.

And this is how we build the actual matrix. A delusional, hysterical, virtual world that is built by machines. Wait until AI consumes all the reality and we reach to a point that people live and die without seeing an actual human generated content, without seeing a real face, without talking to a real human being, without seeing a human made art piece.

Or nothing will happen. Because nothing ever happens. Just touch the grass and stop worrying about things simulation wants you to worry about.
